when i got my baby, i came across this video (20mb). Its really good, and explains cvt's perfectly. Lots of confusion around these trannys, i had to tell the guys at work like 8 times how it works, and why my car dont have 'gears'!!

For every "Drive Safely" sign, shouldn't there be a "Resume Normal Driving" sign?

hey doreen, ,
in semi auto mode, you can just drive the CVT as you would any other manual. (minus the clutch of course!).
i found in auto, it was very much like any other auto, just sounded a little different. like any car, you get used to the way it drives and you get comfortable with it
