So i want to get new Phillips lights for my headlights and was just wondering do they have to be HB3 and HB4 or can i get H3 and H4 ones? Thanks

Not sure but annoyingly because the CJ has separate high and low lenses we need 4 globes not 2 which makes them more expensive in total.

I'm also considering replacement white globes to give it a more modern look without the expense of replacing the headlights.

Looks like the CJ uses HB3 and HB4 in the head lights.

Yeah i think ebay is my best option. I found these ones so i might buy them.

Looked in at SCA this morning and they cost about $75 for the Phillips 40% ones

But remember to complete the look you'll need both 2x HB3 and HB4.

Yeah I asked about the others and they just didn't have them, wasn't sure if they stocked them, which is a shame as they are about the same price.

Do you think i should go with extreme vision or crystal vision? The crystal ones are 4300k and the extremes are 3350k..

Crystal ones will have a more bluish colour temperature, probably a bit brighter too. I've got 8000K HIDs on my low beam and 5800K on my high beam and they're amazing.

Saved my bacon last weekend, I was teaching my girlfriend to drive she's going for her L's soon as her family never take her and she's getting to the age where everyone else already has their opens. Cruising around a vacant beach car park/backroad at 3am. She sat on my lap as I don't trust her enough in my car to sit in the passenger seat yet.

Car coming towards us, gets about two car lengths from us, red and blue lights turn on. Unmarked police car. Girlfriend scrambled across to the passenger sear. Thought I was in big trouble, nope he just RBT'd me and let us go my headlights were bright enough that he couldn't see through the windshield.

No I've had no issues with having HIDs driven past/behind many cops including traffic cops. Even had green lights on in the grille and had no issues. Think also your attitude when talking to them I try to just do what they say, don't talk back, don't be rude. If your going to be a pain I guess they'll be as picky as they want.

That's good then, just as long as you're doing the right thing you should be fine and the cops shouldn't have an issue with you

I think ill stick with getting the extreme ones though.

Temperature is not the same as brightness... It merely affects the colour, and somewhat our perception of brightness (whiteish light looks much brighter than yellowish light despite the same amount of energy being put out).

8000K should be well into blue territory, but it can vary with manufacturer.
White should be ~6000K, factory is usually ~3000-4000K.
