received the last and final letter via registered post at the end of Oct. If there is a belt shortage, wonder why they are sending reminder letters so early.
They have a legal obligation to attempt to inform everyone that is in their owner database.
depending on the popularity of the car and the severity of the incident they may have to run newspaper print, radio and in worse cases TV.
Often the supplier needs to re-tool and kick off a new round of production which can take quite a while for the aforementioned parts to show up. not really much you can do except monitor the status of your serpentine belt now that you are aware of the defect until your booked in.
Look for signs of wear\fraying and or damage.
The belt itself generally gets replaced every 100,000kms, so getting it replaced for free near that point is a bonus.

Will book the car in during the school holiday.
I think this was the third time, i had it booked once or twice earlier on in the year but they didn't have the parts for it.

I rang and asked the same question when the recall was first announced and was told that my RA wasn't included in the recall. Fast forward to around 10 days ago and I get a 'third notification' in the post saying I need to take it in. Mine is MY 11, too

I think its pathetic that Mitsubishi is taking so long to fix those cars affected, really taking a year for a few drive belts and pullies.
Bet you anything if you went in to pay to have them done they would be there the next day!
