Jazzy those dealer warranty aren't worth the paper they are written on usually. Check out how much they cover and it's usually not even close to what the repair bill would come to. I'd be reading into what it covers and doesn't cover and the value upto what it covers before making the decision whether or not you'll stay dealer exclusive on your servicing. Keep in mind you'll easily be paying $2000 extra over the life of the warranty to service it at a dealership...
The 30,000km service is the same as the 15,000km service except you need to lube some of the steering components from memory.
I did my 15,000km service myself, cost me all of $60 for synth oil and KN oil filter. Had I've got my dealer to do it I was looking at $250 using inferior oil and filter so I'm happy to keep doing it myself. Stuff like brake fluid and timing belt I'll probably just go to my local mechanic for. I also do an inbetween oil and filter change at 7,500km intervals

I only wish i knew the tell-tale signs of different problems etc. like, if i'm doing the service myself I wouldn't know if there was something sinister going on under the hood...
But you're totally right, there's a lot of "but we don't..., and we won't..." fine-print in that agreement. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if it's totally not worth it.
Ie. why would they offer it if it meant they'd loose money off me? they obviously in general MAKE money off providing this warranty, gives ppl 'peace of mind' but at more cost - lol...

Here is a quote from an email I received from Mitsubishi regarding the servicing issue in the last week or so. I had enquired about dealer servicing for non-log book services and also servicing of log book required services by non-dealers. I am completely off the dealer that I bought my car from so wanted to find out how it works....
Not sure why they mentioned diesel and turbo models (I told them I had a VRX) - but it would all be the same principle.
MMAL wrote:Dear Mr M......,
We acknowledge receipt of your enquiry regarding servicing.
May we respectfully refer you to page 21 of your Service and Warranty booklet to which it advises that a Regular Oil Change is recommended at 7,500km for DI-Diesel Models with Common Rail Fuel System. This Regular Oil Change is recommended for Turbo Petrol Models at 5,000km. It also makes note that for these models, oil filter must be replaced at every second oil change.
With regard to maintaining your warranty, please be advised that vehicle servicing does not have to be completed by a Mitsubishi dealership, however Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL) strongly recommends this. Our dealerships have full factory support with the latest technical information, specifications, and procedures together with the specialised equipment required to correctly service your vehicle.
Servicing may be carried out by bodies other than a Mitsubishi dealership, providing that the service is performed in accordance with the requirements as detailed in the Service and Warranty book.
If servicing is performed by a body other than a Mitsubishi dealer, and a concern occurs which in the opinion of MMAL is as a direct result of incorrect servicing, the use of other than genuine parts, coolant or lubricants, then warranty may be denied on the affected and/or related components.
With regard to maintaining 5 years free Diamond Roadside Assistance, servicing conditions do apply. To receive ongoing Diamond Roadside Assistance during the second and subsequent years (up to and including the fifth year of registration), the vehicle must have at least one scheduled (time or distance based) service per year performed by an authorised Mitsubishi Service Centre.
If you have any further need for clarification or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Mitsubishi Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 13 12 11.
Kind Regards,
Mitsubishi Customer Assistance Centre
