Def plasti-dip it... I did it a week ago.. looks much better now after 5 layers of that stuff. :)

Hi guys,

Thought I'd ask cos it's been bugging me ever since I bought the car. It seems the previous owner had a bit of fun off-roading it or something (who could blame her?) and as a result, the paintwork on my rear side skirts is pretty ordinary.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a fix other than getting a respray? I'm thinking quick and cheap, was even thinking of wrapping the affected area or just accenting the skirt with a black vinyl or carbon wrap. In two minds though as not sure how it would look if it would be lame?

Welcome mate. I removed the ring and pained mine satin black - i refused to pay the $50 a can for plasti dip that Repco wanted! I don't plan on removing it so no worries there. Take the ring off for sure, not too difficult. Go the sportsback!
MAP EF2 turbo , DW65 fuel pump, ID1000 injectors, EvoX FMIC, UR dump pipe, 100 cell cat, CP-E Exhaust, aFe air filter...and mud flaps!

I used Amour All protective shield which was on sale for $20 a can from Super cheap, essentially the same product!

Next time I will remove the nose ring to spray tho and it didn't come out too smooth and was inconsistent.

Thinking about blacking out the Mitsu logos now... :)
