Yea, I get what you're saying; R33 doesn't come with the V6, only the straight 6, but I'd still like to know the difference between the two.

Yeah the R35 has a V6 cause they stopped using the RB series motors and are now all using the VQ motor cause V6's are more fuel efficeint and nicer to environment then straight 6. Still think you should get it will be good fun car to drive.

i wouldn't jump the gun so soon. just jumping on carsales you find $10-11k is about the average price for a car with similar specs

as for different rwd cars theres not much in the 10k range ... maybe an old s13 or an 86

86s are ancient now and thus cost a fortune to maintain

could prob go r32 as its lighter but they are getting aged now

how much are you planning to spend on mods?

s15 would be sweet(looks and performance wise) but ur looking at atleast $20k for something with reasonableylow kms.

as for professional drifting you always see s15, r34, 86 and rw conversions of awds such as gtrs, evos, wrxs

n as for on the track alot don't let you drift on the circuit... some do have what they call drift pads though...

Eagle, if you get a CAMS race license, then you can easily import a modified jap car (Take your pick - evo, silvia,skyline,mr2, lots to choose from.) These cars are already lightened, some have roll cages, powered up to the max and dirt cheap. But, like I said you need a racing license. If you want to drive this car around as a daily driver to save k's on your lancer, then you will need a roadworthy car.
P.S : You must have a very understanding wife.......hard to find now-a-days.
I checked carsales.com as soon as you wrote the thread, and there are some decent series 2 for around the 9k mark, so offer 9 to 9.5. Who knows, you might get lucky!! If you do buy, take some pics to show us.
Happy Drifting dude!!! I wish someone would make a f*cking track up here in the north!!!!

I intend on using the car as a semi-daily driver and so the wife can learn to drive a manual (she'll switch to the lancer on her P's as it's non-turbo). I really CBF importing. My budget is 10k ish for the car itself. I can save for mods later; but I don't want to take out a loan for the mods.

As for track drifting, Qld Raceway (I think... it's either that or another brisbane based track) has drift tuning days where you go out there with nothing but a car and a helmet and drift sections of the track all day; pulling over in designated zones to make changes where required. There's all levels from pros to those who have never got their car sideways before.

Also, there's skid pan days for $110 in brisbane.

And yes, my wife is awesome. She's just recently got into cars and is as happy talkin' bout cars with the guys as she is maxing out the credit card in shoe stores lol.

For the record, when I say "track" I mean "I'm conforming to Club CJ rules"; oh, and I'd never do it anywhere where persons or property could be damaged.

How much is a CAMS approved roll cage? lol.

You can get a CAMS licence and not even have your licence, i used to watch some of the Production cars and a guy called Drew Russell was racing and he was 16.
