I just looked through the documents i got again and the set price service is listed as after the factory warrenty ends.

It also says that the vehicle must have been serviced in accordance with the service schedules as detailed in the service and warranty book provided with the vehicle (not mandatory for servicing to be at a Mistubishi dealer)

so as Adrivan said as long as it gets serviced then you shouldnt have a problem.

If you see a blue lancer in Melbourne and it looks like a VRX, that'll be me!

damnit this whole time I thought we had an obligation to service at mitsu once a yr. scrap that!

So on the 3rd yr do they need to service it to keep the 2yrs?

No, it just says to take the car to them in the final 6 months and the service manager will authorise the final 2 years...

I suspect they make sure the servicing was done as per the schedule, but I'll find out in 6 months time!

Keep us posted Adrian
I do all my own servicing as well and have never had any issues
I just keep the receipts and get my book signed/dated by a mechanic friend from a local mitsu dealership.
I look after Rhondda's VRX as well so I have a vested interest by two!! :)

Is so incorrect it's not funny. Not even dealerships under the same name are the same price!!

BAM!!!

i was told by my dealer that mistu sets the service cost. if they are different they aren't doing the right thing.

Maybe your dealer is telling you the wrong thing? My dealer said that there was no warranty moleskin replacement for the lancers. He was wrong...

I think you will find that Mitsu does set the price of the service but just like RRP$ this is only a recommended price.

Hmmm I am thinking I should probably learn how to do my own services.
Love that car!

My dad used to teach that (retired now) but he loved doing it because all the so called "car nuts" couldnt do a thing, but the few girls he had who didnt like to get dirty done it perfect every time. and the good thing too is that you can do the service there and get to use the hoist and all their tools, plus if the teacher is good, any mods you want to do they will let you.
