Ok, so I had a meeting with my academic supervisor at the University (University of Queensland) today to discuss my research project. So for all da people not living in the best state in Australia, it is located in St Lucia which is the adjacent suburb to toowong.

So I decided to drop in to Toowong Mitsubishi after the meeting to tell them how to install the reverse camera and honestly I just wanted to check out the car.

So anyway the salesman walked me to the car and they had already installed everything! Some smart cookies working at Toowong Mitsubishi obviously. They told me that after they had finished detailing the car tomorrow I could pick it up. So I will be picking it up sometime after 1pm.

Thats not the best part, I saw some...wait for it...CHROME door handles. So it IS an MY10 Aspire. I am really quite impressed, as no other dealer would give me an MY09 Aspire for any less than $36000.

So tomorrow night I should have some pictures for you guys to look at.

Oh so funny you sound like a little kid in a candy store.:D:

It is so exciting getting a new car, and a great feeling driving out of the show room.

Congratulation and I really look forward to all the pictures.

Go the Aspire's!!

Yeah unfortunately I think I had a small cargasm when I realised that it was an MY10. I'm pretty sure the salesman noticed. lol

Anyway, what do you think I should get with regard to fixing the charging the iPhone through the integration cable?

The giant scosche bit which looks very reputable or the small one from Ridax which has a website that looks like its made in a year 9 IPR class.

Nikhil you are very lucky as you live in Brisbane with Adrian(SIR_VRX).

He is the most knowledgeable guy on our Lancer and exceptional when it come to electrics and electronics.

He always helps members with advice and I am sure would help with installations as well.

I believe he is very trust worthy, probably why he has a +354 reputation.

Leaving you car in his capable hand is shore to have an excellent result with your mods at a far less price then others.

Ok...how do I do that? I've never been able to understand how usb is able to charge anything. I know they got rid of firewire that's why the integration cable doesn't work properly anymore. That's all I know.

Give me some aluminium, steel and titanium and I'll make you a jet turbine. I fail in electrical stuff

EDIT: Yeah thanks Aspir3 I kinda got that feeling in the last couple of days. I may just call on his knowledge soon enough.

To be fair I don't physically make anything that often. Except for random experiments to test theories. Any designs get made by tradie dudes in the workshop who probably know more about the stuff than I do.

I didn't do an engineering degree to be useful, I did it so I could bum around in an airconditioned office and get paid for it.

Seriously, have you seen the 'Big Bang Theory' episode where Raj starts working with sheldon? That's the sorta work I do lol. I just wish they would play 'Eye of the tiger' in the office as motivational music.

you could be the first member with a jet turbine strapped to your roof. Your car would be quick then.

Yes I know about the Darwin awards..

Well, I did the research and priced it up...

Cheaper and easier to buy the Scosche passPORT device thanit is to buy the components and do all the hard work yourself!! LOL

$19.01 USD + Shipping from Amazon HERE

It works by converting the 12V from the FireWire into 5V like USB and putting it across the right terminals. Everything else is pass-through so it'll still work for audio/playlists etc.

Hey thanks Adrian! I think I found another one which might to the trick. It was at the bottom of the page you linked.

http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Charge-Co ... pd_sim_e_3

About the same price and good reviews. And its not as huge as the scosche. WIN!
