I thought I might introduce myself after spending a few days reading alot threads about certain mods & features of the CJ Lancer.
I live on the Gold Coast with my partner & we are looking at getting a VRX Lancer in a Auto. The car is mainly for her hence the Auto plus she is over changing gears. Anyone able to give me some feedback on the VRX in auto setup? This will be our first automatic car as we have always owned manuals..
cheers..

Hi there Simon, welcome to the club.
I have the auto, not a VRX or Aspire, but it's the same gearbox. Very easy to drive especially in traffic. I was up in Sydney last weekend and kept it in drive the whole time. It's also good for that little extra economy on long highway runs.
I'm a little biased but I think the CVT is a good taste of Auto and Manual in the one package - as it has 'sport' mode so you can drive it like a sequential manual if you want. VRX and Aspire both get shift paddles behind the steering wheel.
I agree with the others, if you're looking at VRX in auto get the Aspire instead. Not only is it the "luxury package" which means more options, there is what some drivers would see as an advantage - No wing to block your rear view.

Thanks for the welcome guys!!
I looked at the Aspire but there is a few reasons why we like VRX..
1. That wood grain on the interior is ugly & it went out in the 70's! (Sorry Aspire owners lol)
2. Not fan of leather interior on cars..
3. We like the rear spoiler..
4. We don't need the chrome door handles..
5. Same as Chubb two of the colours we like don't come in the Aspire..lol
6. My partner would be happy with the ES model but i've talk her up to the VRX (Thank god! lol)
As for worrying about the modding side of things I've already had that bug which never really goes away!! I 've done some decent mods to my old Mirage & N15-SSS e.g. Koni shocks/4" lowered springs set up, coilovers, crossed drilled rotors/endless pads, exhausts, full Stereo systems, etc, etc.. the list goes on.. lol!
