Front Area

Postby s21197 » Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:50 pm

Had a thought the other day that I want to try if possible. On the upper grill, I want to take out the chrome surround and mitsu symbol so i've just got grill. I also, wanted to know if anyone has cut out the middle of the front bumper or whether a front bumper is available without the part in between the upper and lower grills. I want to have one big gaping grill at the front of my car. Can this be done?

its been done, if u really want, u could just cut it out ureself, sand down the inside edge and find a big piece of mesh and cut it to fit, but IMHO looks HORRIBLE, too much empty space

well is there at least a way to take out the chrome trim and mitsu symbol on the upper grill? or is the grill behind that not big enough to cover the hole once the chrome bit is gone

yeah nick its too much grill.....lol
but i can see the look...i think just changing the plastic black grill to a stainless steel one would be cool, it needs the molding and the diamond to break it up though.

I agree with the boys on this one it's too much empty area and i wonder would it affect structural strength in the front bodywork at all?
Needs something to break it up and it also looks like it may leave your radiator vulnerable to rocks etc

It would probaly affect airbag operation too and therefore maybe insurance/warranty.

That would be bad news for the radiator in the event of an accident, or hitting an animal on the road. I'd just black everything out. RRM makes a girll for the top part that is cf with just mesh, but it's pretty expensive.
They also have a fiberglass one for cheaper, but still too much to pay for a look you could basically achieve with some sandpaper and paint.

I believe you can also find one on e-bay.
