The 2nd and thrid pics are obviously 'painted' by other car lights, but how did you supply light to the first pic?

i like the view tryg. i like the first one the light is a bit harsh on the others and you loose all the contrast on the car. get a good tint with the gold thow

No car lights. All done with flash gun and torches... hence painting with light technique. There are about 5 flashes of the flash gun from various angles... The exposure time was about 2 minutes.

The red is just a gel over the torch, photographers have these in many colours. I have about 30 colours thus far... but I aint no photographer!

Funny, most of us will like the first one... but as stated earlier.. do them all while you're there... it takes an hour and a lot of set up time, so its easy to do up front.

My wife likes the red one best, oh well, each their own!!

Hey all, took a few pics of my RA last night using this Light Painting idea I learnt from sick bunny. I am a photographer, though I have never done car photography before, just weddings and Studio shoots. I've gotta tell you i'm hooked! Cant wait for the next cruise!

Here's my pic of the bunch :-)

I used a 35mm fixed lens at f10 (bulb setting) for a 2-min exposure, ISO 200. The flashes are then applied off-camera.

I was using 24mm focal length, 100 ISO, 30 Sec Shutter Speed whilst using F7.1 Aperture.
I used a studio light box with a 12v 100watt halogen globe to wash the car with light around 10 mins after sunset.
Adjust your F-stop depending on the amount of ambient light.

Very good pictures friends.
My contribution: This photo was taken at a concentration of Japanese cars last month, this was part of the Mitsubishi group.

I tried a feature of my camera, double exposure, so none of this is done via photoshop etc..

I only did one two exposures and combined them via the onboard camera menu...

It did not turn out terribly well, but I am now interested in doing this more. It would turn out better via photoshop, but then again I wanted to try out this feature.

I call it, 'Heaven meets Hell..."
