Painting the caliper?

i used MOTOSPRAY red caliper paint,
i used the idea of paint brush and spraying the paint into a cup

Oh i never thought of spraying it into a cup, i just masked off the surrounding area. it worked really well and im heaps happy with how it turned out, but i think painting it on would work even better!

Dont bother ringing the NSW Distributor other than Technical Advice, and they're closed for the holidays anyway.

HOLTS DUPLI-COLOR PRODUCTS (USA) are a tad more expensive than your average products because they contain high tech chemicals (Ceramic Resins) in their composition,and hence you wont find them on every Auto Shop shelf.
However most Repco - Autobarn - Supercheap - Bursons etc can order it in for you.

Using ordinary Brake Spray Paint into a can and then brush painting it on the caliper is not a proper method, it's way to thin out of a spray can and hence to many coats are needed to give proper coverage that will last with some longevity.

Last time I painted the calipers on my old car I used a can of caliper paint from SuperCheap and after a few months it looked SuperCheap lol.

Hi David,

That PPC product looks identical to the Holts DupliColor, even the color range is identical.

Seems like the same product marketed by another brand.

Either way, its a better product than can spray products.

Found this link regarding the painting of calipers.

The first item on the page about a spray on car bra looks interesting. Haven't found anything more about it tho in regards to what if anything it will do to your paint.

Just painted my calipers and used the spray in a cup method. Worked very well and I'm quite pleased with the result. Now all I have to do is wait for my new wheels to arrive, hopefully tomorrow.

Paul brakes look great well done.

Your wheel wells look old and dirty. It could be just the picture.

But if not now would be a good time to clean them to get them back to new.

the problem with the covers is that they arnt big enough to hide the calliper so you will still need to paint the calliper.

i think Blue Callipers with lightning in them will look HOT AS Nathen, hint hint
