I've put racing seats in mine, but not Recaros. If you like the EVOX ones mitsu sells em for about $11k :O :D
I'm pretty sure that the race style harness is illegal in street cars. Something to do with not being able to get it off in an accident.

I swear you had a sedan...?

Yeah they must have given me a good quote, it's those seat warmers that must add to the price too!

If you are after a set of Recaros, maybe PM Ryan from JUSTJDM.

He should be able to source a 2nd hand set from Japan. They will still be pricey but hopefully a little cheaper than $11k :P

I talked to my dealer about getting the seats from the Evo X
It was a tad under $3000 for your bum part(the seat) and about $2500 for the Backrest part...... That was for one seat, On the bright side, it comes with the airbag !!! it's probably the only seat I could legally own if a traffic Copper pulled me over and gave a thourough inspection

From what I've read on another forum, its not a case of plug & play.

You will get an airbag error light as the seats are programmed with specific VIN code & will mis match.

Dont know how much Mitsu will charge to fix it... or if at all?

I have read about it, and apparently they can reprogram to allow the airbags to function.

I am not 100% sure about how much they would hit you for it though.

I fitted Recaro seat and sparco harnesses in my RX3. In S.A. we are allowed to fit these as long as the seat is mounted to the origin adjustable rails. The harnesses are allowed to be fitted but you must still have retractable seat belts. I replaced the original seat belt bolts with an eye bolt. These held the original seat belts and then I attached the harnesses to the eye bolts.
Legally on the street I had to wear the original belt or I could be fined for not wearing belt. I could wear both.
This all becomes difficult with all the plastic covers on the CJ, pretension belts, air bags etc.

i rather doubt you'll get the problem or an error light. after reading on the EvoM forums the guys in the US say that they get a seatbelt warning light whenever they unplug the harness from underneath the seat but i can tell you from experience that i unplug my seatbelt sensor when im using my sparco harness and it doesn't throw any warning lights. the AUDM evo's are heaps different from the USDM ones. not saying 100% that you wont get a warning light but i rather doubt it based upon my experiences.

hahaha heated leather seats in a RA. not sure what i could swap them over to mate. last i checked bride dont make leather and CF race seats. if you're serious about getting a set of evo seats i'd drop Ryan @ Just JDM a pm. i'm sure he's looking for an excuse to tell the missus why he had to go and buy some new race seats lol
