recaro seats
has anyone put Recaro racing seats in there lancer?? also has anyone gone with the proper rally/race seatbelts that are three straps that clip together?
I talked to my dealer about getting the seats from the Evo X
It was a tad under $3000 for your bum part(the seat) and about $2500 for the Backrest part...... That was for one seat, On the bright side, it comes with the airbag !!! it's probably the only seat I could legally own if a traffic Copper pulled me over and gave a thourough inspection

He should be able to source a 2nd hand set from Japan. They will still be pricey but hopefully a little cheaper than $11k
From what I've read on another forum, its not a case of plug & play.
You will get an airbag error light as the seats are programmed with specific VIN code & will mis match.
Dont know how much Mitsu will charge to fix it... or if at all?
I fitted Recaro seat and sparco harnesses in my RX3. In S.A. we are allowed to fit these as long as the seat is mounted to the origin adjustable rails. The harnesses are allowed to be fitted but you must still have retractable seat belts. I replaced the original seat belt bolts with an eye bolt. These held the original seat belts and then I attached the harnesses to the eye bolts.
Legally on the street I had to wear the original belt or I could be fined for not wearing belt. I could wear both.
This all becomes difficult with all the plastic covers on the CJ, pretension belts, air bags etc.

i rather doubt you'll get the problem or an error light. after reading on the EvoM forums the guys in the US say that they get a seatbelt warning light whenever they unplug the harness from underneath the seat but i can tell you from experience that i unplug my seatbelt sensor when im using my sparco harness and it doesn't throw any warning lights. the AUDM evo's are heaps different from the USDM ones. not saying 100% that you wont get a warning light but i rather doubt it based upon my experiences.
