So I've got my Vortex Generator VG from x factor designs.
Now to install it, however I know from all the alerts more than the bog standard adhesive tape supplied should be used to avoid it flying off at high speed on free/high/motorways
I have my Sikaflex - but I dont want to apply straight lines of the stuff only because my concern is water pooling under the VG.
So my plan is thus, just curved lines of it between the fins to create artificial channels to allow water to flow towards the back. Also applying the Sikaflex in arches to allow better drainage.
Thinking of removing existing double sided tape and applying better quality 3M double sided tape (3M code 4611 or 4622) and sikaflex in tandem.
The other option is to do away with the double sided tape altogether and just go sikaflex all the way and apply a slightly arched tapered sikaflex trail on the leading edge for water to run off into the side rain gutters.
Note: there will only be one rainwater flow and that is on the extreme left and right of the VG down the gutters.
so yeah, thoughts? pro, cons, better ideas/plans?

you could just seal it with sikaflex once the VG is installed run a line of sikaflex all around the edges of the VG then using soapy water stick your fingure in it and pushing into the edge of the VG push the sikaflex in to the edge sealing it, and remove excess with your finger. then clean the unwanted sikaflex off with a cleaner or soapywater if its still not cured much
IF YOUR NOT LIVING ON THE EDGE YOUR TAKING UP TOO MUCH ROOM
