Car bra for Lancer

Postby Dejan » Fri Nov 06, 2009 9:51 am

Hi all,

Does anyone know if MITSUBISHI has factory style and made car bras for our lancers?? I know CARBRA.com.au based in Melbourne do these, they quoted me for $403 supplied and delivered to my door in Sydney and with free RA logo on for the month of November, is this a good deal??

I'd love to get the genuine factory accessories version of the car bra if there is any made from Mistu, anyone knows and how much??

Also, is it really worth the money for that?? I mean i go on interstate trip and track work around 5 times a year and intend to keep the car for 3 more yrs so its 15 times of use all up. Should i get the bra, or just respray the dfront bar when selling it, to get rid of chips and stuff??? They prolly work out to be about the same.

Also, i heard those black car bra ( the ones i'm geting) can make my red colours fade under strong sun and left on there for a while, is that true??

Cheers,

Dejan

I have never seen a manufacturer genuine "car bra" or similar - they are only made by secondary businesses.....

I personlly don't think theya re worth it. If you are going to sell the car in 3 yrs with x kilometres on it, people will expect that it has a couple of chips here and there. It's part of driving on roads.

I'd actually like to know what they do to air flow for the engine and radiator. Some I have seen look like they'd restrict a lot of air getting to where it needs to be.

For country driving - esp. at night I would recommend putting some fly screen mesh type stuff over the radiator at the front of the car (can be held on with tie strips at the bottom, numberplate in the middle and bonnet clips at the top) to reduce the amount of insects getting in your radiator. I personally think this is more important than a couple of stone chips that can be touched up with Mitsu paint pen as required.
