Game Idea...

Postby tadz0rz » Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:37 am

Hey guys

In light of the melbourne cup racing n all that stuff going on in the past few weeks...

What do you guys think of a ClubCJ Betting Game?

Dont have to bet money, but we have to bet our ClubCJ points?

Nothing complicated, but ill break it down for what ive been thinking. Ill use a footy game for example...

Dogs VS Pies. 'p' = points

5 Members put in 1000 points for pies to win = 5000p

10 Members put in 1000 points for dogs to win = 10000p

All those points go into a pool = 15,000p Prize Pool. A ghost ClubCJ account Named ClubCJPool and the points will be sent to that account.

If the Dogs take the win, that 15,000p gets distributed evenly to the 10 members from ClubCJPool

We'd probley have to put in a 'Minimum Buy In' of a certian amount and a maximum members who bet aswell...

Might have to find some other stuff to bet on aswell...But what do you guys think?

We can up the ante once we get more familar with how this system to work effectivly

*being difficult* Why would Dogs take the win... .

I'm on another forum which has a betting component. Same concept but the system awards the points. There's no real use for their points except that since it's a betting site, the forum points seem to reflect just how good you are at punting.

I'm unsure how much our points are actually worth. So if it isn't worth much, I think we could do the system awarded point scheme.

Awww, just after I spent my 100k points :P

It sounds like a pretty good idea, BUT - at the moment there isn't really much to spend points on :(

Ive never really used my points other than in the ClubCJ shop, not sure where else i can even use em. But I just thought it could put our puts to use in a fun way...

Is there any way we can figure out if our points are worth anything other than an imanginary currency to buy stuff in the ClubCJ points shop?

Edit: Yeah theres not too much to bet on at the moment...But once footy season comes back we should have no problems finding something to be on. Horse racing is hard to bet on lol.

Maybe you could purchase "clubcj credit"
Something like 100,000 points = $10

and you can use those credits to get discounts on buying from the ClubCJ shop (vinyls) or group buys.

Perhaps you must be a premium member to exchange points for credit also.

Pros:
Will keep the forum active and encourage people to contribute
Will not cost the club a lot as 100k points isn't that easy to get and $10 isn't that much

Cons:
Will cost the club money

My 2c :D

^^ Although thats a good idea, wouldnt really be the best for the club if we are actually betting money..

What if we just did ClubCJ Footy tipping?

Then at the end whoever is on the top wins a fuel voucher or stickers...or something..

i think that Con, is a BIG Con, im not too sure but i dont think the club is doing that well financially to be able to give members such a discount (yet) I get your idea though (I think) but for example, Club logo stickers cost $10 to make, we charge $20 to buy so that is $10 that the club is getting or charge $10 for the sticker plus 100 points therefore the club isn’t loosing any money, its just not making any. (But for Prem Members only)

if that makes scence

yeah, it makes sence, it's just an idea though ;)

It could be modified to be for a lot less $$ or alot more points and stuff like that though

oh yeah, but i think everyone needs to sit down and discuss it. but i dont think that the club should have to pay for anything. isnt the clubs money there to pay for the set up of (for example) the stickers.

Yeah I agree, it would seem more practical if the club was larger and turning over a good profit

At the moment there are a lot of setup and maintennance costs
E.G: Decals manufacturing,Startup costs for Shamrock product lines,
Website fees,Bank fees,competition prizes,that sort of thing
Having said that though it shouldn't be too long before CCJ is more financially stable,so if there are any suggestions or requests concerning CCJs finances feel free to ask,and i'll do my best to answer your enquiries. - Mizta B
