Hail :O

Postby M@verik » Sat Oct 03, 2009 9:18 pm

Ok so after a storm with hail the size of tennis balls (Yes in South Africa...), my bonnet looks like shit with quite a few chips (somehow the rest of the car is still kinda intact lol), im gonna need a respray... or while im at it should I just get the evo bonnet?

I hate the lancer's thin paint...

Yeah I would get a CF bonnet, but its not the best thing to have in an accident... Im leaning more towards the aluminium OE evo X bonnet. Unless I have a bunch of CF panels, a head on collision with a CF bonnet will be quite dangerous

I'd avoid having a head-on in the first place - Head on accidents are basically death anyway, vector displacement or whatever the speed of the accident is the speed of your car PLUS the speed of his/her car, so in a 100kmph zone its about 200kmph, taking away discrepancies such as one car speeding or being driven by an old person. I'd rather swerve off the road and hit a power pole at 100kmph anyday.

go the new bonnet dude! I parked my car under a tree a while back and the birds took aim at the bonnet and I stupidly didn't wash it for ages and now have huge marks in the paint as a constant reminder to WASH MY CAR REGULARLY! I'm gonna get the EVO/ralliart bonnet as soon as I can afford it rather than respray cos it looks awesome!
Where are my keys?!

wouldn't hitting two objects head on both going 100km/h wouldn't that only be a collision of 100km/h not 200. the point of collision will be 0km/h making both objects only having a 100km/h collision, but if the two objects have different mass then the smaller mass object will receive a harder hit.
i think its something like that anyway. from what i remember of doing physics.
