Post office Freight charges quoted as:
A$17.50 per KG by Air (up to 4 weeks) WTF!? What kind of planes do they use??
A$10.00 per KG by Sea (up to 22 weeks)

I will register and insure the items as well. So charges on top of that.

Apparently Post office will not mail more than 20KGs and the timings are wrong. So now my guy is looking for a courier. Courier has quoted the Melbourne Shipment at A$400 completely insured and be here in 5 days.

Post office wants A$17.50 per KG So the Melbourne pack is 28KG including boxing. Uninsured and Unregistered. Will take a minimum of 4 weeks. Unfortunately they don't ship anything MORE than 20KG (like AusPost)

Courier is around A$400. Insured. Will take 5 working days.

No matter what, you pay the proportion of your weight. We all share the weight of the box. So you can work out your proportion by taking all the items shipped to me, take the weight of your 2 items and do a fraction of A$400. You get your rough shipping cost. I think I worked mine out to be A$19.20.

So I bought my A$203 (I think they charge A$15 for shipping here in Au so really A$218.00) item for A$119.20 *shipped* which works out to a 45.4% saving? Something along those lines.

Tadzorz: I think yours works out to A$51.20 for shipping + A$210 for your parts, you're paying about A$261.20 for your 2 parts which would have cost you: 203+15+220=A$438.00 here (assuming they can ship both items for the cost of A$15). That's a 41% I think off the price here.

Bearing in mind all these shipping charges are now estimates only.

So despite saving some of you in excess of 50% in costings, we lose some 10% back in shipping fees. sorry but this was inevitable untill we have a shipping account with one of the big players.

Hmm.. I wonder how much better this front strut brace is compared to the OE one? The OE one at least looks more.... integrated?
