I got 590kms out of this tank just gone. Admittedly the second low fuel warning had just appeared at about 570kms. I was on the highway so stretched out past the first fuel light another 50kms or so.

That tank was a good 50/50 Highway/Around town driving. Oh and some "spirited driving" showing off my brakes to Lethal_1 and drake89

Yeah, fuel economy is pretty good. I usually get about 5KM out a full tank.

Haha, fair point. I took that pic stuck in a car park traffic with thousands of people trying to leave at the same time. Literally took 10 minutes to get out. Eventually it passed 99L/KM and just went --/--.

Model: 2008 Lancer ES
Motor: 2.0L
Gearbox: Manual
Mods: VRX 18's, lowered, sports muffler

Average Fuel Econ: 7.7 - 8.5 (depends on where I'm working)

Best ever: I can't remember if it was 5.9, 6.1 or 6.3. 5.9/6.1 were when I first got it and ran stock wheels and hubcaps.

I have just returned a few days ago from a road trip to the Gold Coast, I filled up just past the border on the way home via the Pacific Hwy and made it home and then some. 750km to the tank, average 6.9L/100km, and that is probably not too accurate, I re-filled it to the B R I M...literally welling in the inlet...

'10 Activ Sportback
2.0 manual
692 km @ 50.00 l
13.84 km/l ( 38.8 mpg ! )

( l/ 100km is a bullshit measure imo )

Btw - gauge said " 0 km " till empty - refill was 50 litres ( 59 litre tank )

That is a great figure Ron.
Was that all long distance highway driving???

Yes U R 100% correct, L/100km is a completely BS measurement.

I have my car setup to show km/L, a far more useful figure.

Have an ES CVT. Stock economy: mix of city/country and freeway: 570-600km, 7.2L/100km on highway and about 8.5-10 L/100km on city.

now with stock VRX rims: freeway: 7.6L/100km, city about 9-11 L/100km.
If you see a blue lancer in Melbourne and it looks like a VRX, that'll be me!

Model: 09 VR
Motor: 2.0L
Gearbox: CVTl

Average Fuel Econ: 10.2

Best ever: 7.2 on a trip to Brisbane

This car is used for driving instruction so it is stop start most of the time.

I had a Hyundai 1.6 auto Getz before the VR and the average was around 11?

The VR is cheaper to run a lot more comfortable

Model: 09 RX
Motor: 2.0L
Gearbox: Manual

Average Fuel Econ: 7.4 - 8.9
Best ever: 6.7

This car is the wifes car

I didn't know you guys can set the fuel gauge to show km/L... I mean it makes more logical sense/useful and I note that my GReddy Informeter Touch shows fuel economy this way (so does Nissan's 350z trip computer)- that is, km per L.

ps. I believe the trip computer tells you empty tank the moment distance to empty drops below 50km (well it causes the MMCS and the D2E to go either to 1990km on the MMCS or nil on the D2E).. which in my case today was at 44.09L (out of a 55L tank). This was the first alarm where the dash lit up yellow and beeped for a little while but then reverted to red with a flashing petrol icon. I could still see the little bit of petrol in the gauge though.
