If you can answer yes to this than it might be worth looking at:
Do you drive hard?
Do you plan to mod your car in the futre engine wise.
Do you do alot stop start..eg traffic?
will you be tunning your car imn the near future.
now this is only a guide...
but guys i am not going to tell you to buy something because i think it needs to be done or i am bored at 13:43 on wednesday,
this is something that you need to decide the facts are there,
but i am firm believer on certain things if it's not broken don't fix it.

All very well to say they are to a certain spec, but if that spec isn't posted and explained I will find it hard to lay out that kind of cash.
I await your post.
Cheers

Hi Joog,
The NGK ones in our cars (some say Denso but mine are NGK) Have a .06mm Electrode. The HKS plugs have a .04mm electrode to give a more prescise spark.
Also where the NGK is irridium only, the HKS have platnium in addition to the irridium. It is claimed to give the spark plug better performance.
Like I said previously, these plugs are not going to make my ES perform like an EVO, but they are the best that money can buy, and especially if you decide to have your ECU tuned etc, then it could offer more benefits.
NGK make the Iridium IX and are 0.6mm iridium centre tip plugs with a nickel outer electrode and cost about $80/set (I have a set sitting on my bookshelf at home ). Apart from that they only make normal 2.5mm nickel centre tips for our cars.
What I suspect is the HKS are a iridium centre tip electrode and a nickel outer electrode with a platinum plug (similar to the NGK Laser Iridium except it would seem the HKS centre electrode is 0.4 and not 0.6 based off info in this thread). If this is the case they aren't the best type of plug out there. The best plugs have dual iridium tips for the centre and outer electrodes (NGK DFE Iridium), although I am unaware if these come in the CJ's size of plug.
Also keep in mind a 0.4mm iridium is most liekly going to wear out quicker than a 0.6mm iridium plg, so whilst these cost more you aren't automatically going to get more life from them.
As for the question are they preset, the answer is if they are selling them for your vehicle, then yes they should be. You aren't supposed to reset the gap on a platinum or iridium plug.
As for ignition leads, our engines have coil on plug technologoy whichis where alot of new cars are heading so there are no leads to upgrade. Only a 12V power wire and a pulse wire from the ECU go to the plug mounted coil packs on our cars.
LLT Racing can supply a externally mounted upgraded coil pack system, but it is only needed for serious modders.
OK.... This group buy is now closed.
