Is the Stig always one person? It could be a different person each a professional "test driver" for that make/model of car atleast thats one theory anyway.

I'm thinking the same thing too. It could be different professional drivers, and BBC is just wanting to make their audience believe it's just one person. Obviously the one they send out to travel in public transport during some of their trips isn't the actual racer.
