Ozie, can I verfiy how you are going to know who the winner is?

Because, the post count on the front page shows the number of posts that are on the site, but it does not show the ones in the parts of the forum not accessible to regular members like the committee section.

But the topic reply emails provide a link to posts like this: http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=54101#54101 with 54101 being the post number. Now that is a fair way from the post count on the front page.

However, it does provide a reference to the post and you can see who made it, unlike the front page number.

Next to the "Posted: Sat Sep 05, 2009 10:39 pm" above each post is a little orange / white image which will show a p=xxxxx number, that will be the true post number as it appears in the database. The number on the frontpage would be different in the event of posts being deleted or merged.

The easiest way would be just to type in http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=54321#54321 and see whose post comes up

Yes, I understand that, and we could write http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=54321#54321 BUT Ozie is going off the front page number for the count down... if we go from the database number, 54321 is not far away. Perhaps tomorrow.

I think what Adrian is getting at is whether it is going to be the 54321st post on the forum overall, or the 54321st post to all the unrestricted sections of the forum.

THIS COMPETITION IS BASED ON THE FRONT HOME PAGE COUNT.

the actual post count is on the front page and not the post count that comes up in your Address bar.

i can see everyones concerns and i appreciate that everyone wants a fair and even competition.

The post count that isn't on the front page includes deleted posts and isn't our true post count!

i hope this clears up any speculation.
