I think 6000 would be the most you want to go to. I orignally wanted to get like 12000k, but when speaking to ofey, he said after a while they burn and discolour your lenses and leave black rings on the front of your headlight.

When some of the beemers came out a while ago with the HIDS they didnt think it would burn the lenses. Ofey knows more about that hole deal than me but, when i get hids max im going is 6000k

I personally wouldn't go higher than 5000K. Any higher than 5000K you loose lumens ie light output.

All OEM globes are made by either Phillips or Osram and they are 4300K. They just look whiter on some cars over others as the types of lenses vary greatly.

With aftermarket kits, anything above 5000K they tint the glass to get the extra colour, and that is where a lot of the output is lost. Also the higher you go in the K rating, the more chance of getting defected for them, as they are move obvious a HID kit than just stupid ebay-blue bulbs.

Keep in mind also, that HIDs are illegal unless in a proper housing, have auto-levelling devices and washer jets. And in my personal opinion, stupid unless they are not in a proper housing designed for HID lighting, which regular halogen headlights like our ones are not.

I have plenty more information, just ask any questions you may have. I just didn't want to wreck the sponsor's group buy thread with my ramblings haha

There is no heat difference between them. The "temperature" is just the colour rating, measured in kelvin.

8000K is too blue. 33ASY has 8000K low beam and its really really blue. Defect central.

Just go 6000K if you must. Thats is a much nicer colour than 8000K and is easier on the eye. And not so obvious to the po-po
