Can't program SWC on kenwood HU

Recently got a new kenwood HU, using the CHMB6C adapter for SWC it doesn't allow me to reprogram specific buttons functions at all. Any help?

You can't program the specific steering controls through the kenwood head unit as they are preset for our car within the CHMB86c. The only way to allow you to program the controls would be to use the small 3.5mm plug that comes with the Kenwood head unit and wire it directly to the cars steering wheel controls.

Note once you do that you can't adjust your amp settings. Check out my post from when I had issues and see if that helps.

I actually went and bought Aepros /Connects2 self-learning patch lead that connected to the SWC adapter and it works perfectly, didn't need to use kenwoods SWC harness but was gonna go that step to connect everything
