The stock headlights are the same size / shape as these DEPOs. My hands are too large to get into the gaps between the back of the lights and all the brackets / wires / crap in the engine bay, so it's easier for me to just pull the entire bumper off and remove the lights.

Wow!
Man that's a lot of work

You don't have anyone living close by who you might be able to ask to help get the bulbs in/out with ?

It sure is, but is quicker and easier than faffing around trying to get my hand(s) into tiny spaces...

I've done it twice now without help (once to get the DEPOs installed, the second to test the dying bulb). I expect it will take under 2 hours when the bulbs arrive and I install them.

Hardest part are those stupid plastic push-lock pin things. I keep breaking them as I try to get them out.

New bulbs are in, and oh yeah.... Much brightness of light happening. :-)

Less than 90 minutes from start to finish. If I'd paid attention to lining up all the bulb holder bits when inserting the first new one, it would have been quicker. The worst part is unclipping the front bumper from the clips near the wheel arch - it takes a lot of force, and makes a very scary BANG noise when they unclip. (Yes, I had removed all the bolt inside the wheel arch and all the panel pins first!)

According to the box, they are 50% brighter than "normal" HID globes, and they certainly look brighter than the old ones.

Mars Performance "el-cheapo" 35W / 6000K option. (If you can call $140 for the pair cheap...)

https://marsperformance.com.au/MARS-35W ... 2S-D2R-D2C

The original DEPO bulb was a D2S, whilst these are D2C.

Post number 5 in this thread has the differences between D2S / D2R / D2C :

https://honda-tech.com/forums/lighting- ... s-2123184/
D2R = D2 bulb for Reflectors (like the IS300's or the Prius, notice the ceramic painted part of the bulb for light control)

D2S = D2 bulb for Shielded housings aka projectors (notice no paint)

D2C = D2 aftermarket bulb, C generally standing for colored (6000K and up) but it also means the base has notches to fit in both R or S housings.

Cheers,
V
