Regarding the whole braking setup

I got a 2011 Lancer SX and after the after the recent servicing, the mechanic said it requires a new set of brake pads and rotors need to be machined. I was like okay and I thought, this is the best opportunity to go for an upgrade and bought a set of DBA T2 slotted rotors. So rotors are done but I am confused regarding the brake pads, braided lines, callipers and brake fluid.

1. What brake pads are better? Wagner, Bendix Ultimates or Brembo Nao pads? (DB1441 for fronts and DB1686 for rears.)
2. Are braided lines worth it? If yes then where can I find a new set?
3. Do I need to change the calipers or the OEM ones are sufficient? If OEM are not sufficient then what are the other options?
4. DOT 4 brake fluid?

I may take my car to a track once in a month or so. So I am looking for best bang for buck kinda set up for both street and track use. Also I will be putting on some new 18 inch wheels with 245/40 R18 tires.

If you're going to do a little track work you will need to a lot better pad. The brembos you mentioned might be ok,have a look for Pagid or EBC. I use EBC red stuff pads in my Evo and I'm happy with those.
The stock calipers should be OK you could upgrade to bigger VRX rotors,Ralliart twin piston calipers and replace the front hubs with VRX ones to accommodate the bigger rotors.
As for brake hoses that's up to you.I don't believe there is a great deal of difference in pedal feel between rubber and braided hoses.Ive used rubber hoses on my rally cars for 30+ years and never had an issue.If you do change to braided hoses make sure they are ADR approved and have an approval number on them
Brake fluid- use Dot 4 and change it before and after every time you track the car

Can't speak for cars, but with motorcycles the change from rubber brake lines to braided lines is like chalk and cheese. (I'll take the braided lines over squidgy rubber any day!)

I can't seem to find a proper set of braided brake lines for lancer. Does anyone know where can i find a set online from a retailer? Is there any compatibility issue if i take a braided kit for an evo and try to fit it in lancer?

I got mine from them , they are ADR approved and I have a copy of the paperwork in the glovebox should I need it

Had zero issue with them and had them on the car for a few years now, at least two now

Hey Guys! Sorry this reply is quite late but I just finished up installing a new set of brake pads and rotors. I ditched the lines (for now) but in my opinion, they look gooood!

So, a recap on what parts I've used -

DBA T2 Rotors for front and rear and Brembo brake pads for both front and rear and I also threw in paint on the calipers just for aesthetic gains

What paint did you use on the calipers?

This is the link of the paint which I used. Its from Duplicolor saying that this paint is specifically for painting brake calipers and so far despite having brake dust and all, when I washed it with Meguiar's ultimate wheel cleaner, the brake dust came out easily while not scraping the paint off.

How much dust are you getting off the Brembo pads?

I'm not sure if I'll be able to give you a comparison with any other set of pads but initially since I use my car for my work as a food delivery driver. In the first week and a half of installation, I'll say there was quite a bit of build-up but since my wheels were already a bit dirty before the installation. I can't give you the specific amount but will update you since I washed my wheels, rotors and callipers thoroughly like almost a week ago

If you want to upgrade the front ES rotor / caliper down the track , the Ralliart 2008+ ones work well and slot in nicely behind the stock 16 Inch wheels.

Will those RA brakes fit nicely behind an 18 inch wheel? I'm planning to change the wheels as well.
