how to remove exterior B pillar on lancer?
hey guys, i was wondering how you go about removing the exterior B pillar, as mine has faded and i wish to replace it. sorry if it has been asked before.

Are you talking of the black vinyl decals on the driver and passenger doors in the middle of the car?
Don't remove them
Take it to a vinyl wrap shop and let them replaced it with some genuine 3M wrap , comes with 10 year warranty. Not that expensive to get them to do it

Re: how to remove exterior B pillar on lancer?
I'm pretty sure they can't be removed and are a part of the main door structure, not 100% sure on this.
Also I painted mine for 2 reasons. First the drivers side door on the B pillar had a dent from the previous owner and for some reason black is the only colour they don't do them in flat black but the same gloss black as the best of the car.
I think I did a good job and its a little different. That said yes I'd do 3M wrap which would probably be easier.

Cheers guys, I’ll look into the 3M wrap
Re: how to remove exterior B pillar on lancer?
The black vinyl between the doors can absolutely be removed
To do it right you need to lower the window and pop out the window guide as the vinyl wraps under it
That's said
It's a royal pain
Strongly recommend go talk to a professional whondoes vinyl wrap
Get genuine 3M wrap
I used CF wrap , has 10 year warranty and run your fingers over it and you can feel the CF weave
Worth every penny

Re: how to remove exterior B pillar on lancer?
Thanks for the clarification, should have known this since my drivers side rear door was replaced then someone backed into it and I'd painted the B pillar part and it didn't look like they had tried to colour match it to the drivers door.

Open the doors and look at the black strip
Run your finger nail over it
Where the car paint hits the vinyl there is a ridge
Look at the inside of the door
You will see the vinyl wrapped around the edges about 4 mm or so
Peel the black vinyl off and you will find the colour of the door under it
And be left with a sticky mess to eliminate
Easy done
Eucalyptus oil to the rescue
