These wires may be for higher models i.e the Evo.
Here is what is hooked up there in my 2010 Evo X MR - Afs lighting control and Awc Control. Centre is an aftermarket Tyre Pressure Monitor so ignore that.

I want to put some some switches/buttons on the center console where my coin box currently is atm.
And I've got some questions.
1. What is the part called that houses the buttons (in place of the coin box)?
2. What is this blank space used for?

Number two in the picture is the heated seating buttons

I'll get a photo in sometime this week to give you guys a look. The plug is literally inside of the coin tray, however I don't know if i can pull it out or so. Literally, nothing going to the coin tray, just a random plug. I'll send a photo off when I finish all these essays :/

Re: Center Console Buttons
Should have postered this earlier but...
this is mine, the right on is the turn the power off to the front camera, the middle is a couple of USB ports with volt meter (AliExpress) The left is a garage opener, shy don't tell anyone.
Nice. When you say front camera, do you mean dashcam? I'm assuming you've tapped into the "always on" 12V and you switch it on when driving and maybe at the parking lot.
Garage opener is handy. I would too if I had an automatic garage door.

Buggers. I'll have to post back the ejection seats to my ebay seller. Luckily I have ebay plus.

The garage thing is a normal ESP switch (any push to hold) with a normal garage opener wired to it and hidden below the switch, makes life easier. You could do the same for a gate or something.
The camera runs into the 2nd AUX in my Android HU, power is only one when the engine is running, think they used the power socket, can't remember. The switch just cuts the power so the camera is only on when I need it. I just select it on the HU and turn it on, then its on the screen as long as I'm not in reverse.
Been considering getting a LED light bar for a trip soon but money and time are not on my side, got an auto electrician coming this week to wire up the rear fog light (yes) and I'll ask his opinion on that.

Oh so it's for the reverse camera. Right? And the switch is like a manual over-ride.
In terms of lights, I've been thinking of going "All Bush":
* Pair of 40W LED driving lights just above number plate bracket
* LED Bar just below my roof basket (don't know how to wire this yet)
* One flush mount LED in the rear bumper, tapped into reverse
The most likely outcome is probably just number 1. Although two, would be nice. Three, would be unlikely.
But yeah the switch panel is in preparation for these lights

Re: Center Console Buttons
No I have a front and rear (reversing) camera, these are seperate from the dash cams which are mounted high in the front and rear windows.
The rear (reverse) comes on automatically when in reverse, can't be over ridden. Its down at the number plate and replaces one of the lights, nice and stealth.
The front is mounted on a plate I made under the front number plate, dead centre and flush with the front lower grill.
Front camera... no its just alloy wrapped in CF

Re: Center Console Buttons
I've always wanted to mount a dashcam in a low forward/backward position to record some cool winding drives. It would be on my wish list.

Re: Center Console Buttons
If you want to do that get something like a GoPro with cover and mounts. Mount them where you want and do one pass then move it for the second.
You'll get a much better video in 4k or FHD, dash cams tend to be wind angle and can distort the image, mine have
'image correction' which are still wide angle but doesn't look like it. Also dash cams work bed when mounted high in the windscreen or back window. Tried mounting the rear one low and just got shots of my VRX wing.
With my forward (parking) camera it can't record on my car, that's not the point, it just makes it easier in some tight parking spots, not quite as good as the 360° image you get in some top new cars but it works for me.
