Better Sun Visors?
Ok anyone else have problems with their sun visors.
Now what I'm talking about is them not staying up when forward and against the windscreen?
When I put them forward to the windscreen they drop back with maybe a 10cm gap to the glass, weirdly I had this exact same issue with my old CC coupe 1993 model but never struck it with any other car I've driven.
Now I usually have them forward as it blocks the glare from the sky or lights at night and seriously unless you're on a rally special stage who is looking up there when driving?
Any solutions?
BTW they hold fine when against the roof and fully back and up.

Never had that issue
One solution is to talk to a window tint place and get a piece of tint across the top of the windscreen put in. Any decent place will charge you less then $50 for it.
Or Goto a wrecker and get a new pair of visors of a wreck.
Either way I doubt it will cost much to fix

Re: Better Sun Visors?
Thing is I don't think its just 'bad luck' I had the same exact issue with my old Lancer and its something I've not see in other makes and models. Maybe when I take the CJ in for its service I'll poke around the car yard and see what CJs I can find or others to look at?

Re: Better Sun Visors?
I'm betting it's the hinge inside the visor
If you unclip the visor from the little clip so you can swing the visor out and then rotate the visor up and down does it do the same thing?

Re: Better Sun Visors?
I'll be going out shortly so will try that later today.
Just seems weird I won't hold were I want it.

Re: Better Sun Visors?
Didn't help, maybe its just poor design.
How far forward will the visor stay up on other CJs?

Re: Better Sun Visors?
I'm positive my CY goes higher then yours
Yours goes to with windscreen and falls back to a rest then pauses and falls back even more.
That isn't right.
If you want it fixed grab a pair out of a wreck

Re: Better Sun Visors?
Well they are 10 years old so maybe need replacing. Been a while since I've checked the local wreckers here on the Sunshine coast but last time there were none.

Re: Better Sun Visors?
I know this thread is 2 years old but again looking at the visors.
Not replaced them but I did take the drivers one off, no real way to fix it I can see. Moving it past the point of the windscreen (when off) as it does lock into place but there doesn't seem to be a way to change this.
Also checking online the used ones aren't very cheap unless you can find one at a wrecker but it will probably have the same poor design issue I had in my last Lancer. But in other cars they seem to work, what is going on here?

Re: Better Sun Visors?
While on this topic, does anyone know the size of screw that holds the visor to the roof? One of the three on the driver's side is missing and I've only just remembered now.

Re: Better Sun Visors?
They are screws, not sure of the size. Plus they are held in with plastic 'legs' that go into the hole, I don't know why they are needed, in case the screws come out?
I'd want to get new ones if they do the same thing.
