We are all in it for the fun!
Re: What did you do today?
Modified the front. Simple! Used the back of the car in front of me. Oops!!!!
No structural damage, New bonnet, new front bumper and ancillaries
Replace with RA bonnet, pay the extra! No, Insurance wont play ball!

Oh that sucks.
My insurance company were happy to buy a ralliart rear bumper once I supplied the part number and paid for the difference

That does indeed suck,as long as you're OK that's the main thing.

Re: What did you do today?
I was considering similar when an 80 series 'modified' the rear of my CJ just over 12 months ago, but didn't have enough cash to pay the difference at the time...
Got this today.
Also got the replacement bit for my Android HU, should find time tomorrow to get that back up and running.

Re: What did you do today?
Nothing today, too much rain but in the last few days I did this...
Wired up the new plug on my trailer and...
Also got 4 cans of Plastic-Dip from eBay in just 3 days for $40 including shipping, in store it would be about $100 at full price!

Plasti-dipped the front grill of my lancer. I think it looks far better with it blacked out than without.

Re: What did you do today?
Okay I have a problem, water is getting into my boot (trunk for those in the USofA).
So a couple of months back I noticed the floor mate on the left side of the spare damp. So I too everything out to find moisture on that side and water under the spare wheel. At the service a week later they could not find anything wrong. So since then its been pretty dry around here, last week (before the rain) I rechecked and all was well to moisture I could see of feel. Then today I noticed a bit of damp again in the same spot, also on the very lowest edge of the side wall carpet, just the bit under the boot floor carpet. Again removed everything and some water pooling under the spare wheel.
Again I checked behind the side carpet on the left, nothing I could see, all nice and dry.
So I had a theory that the boot lid seal wasn't working, so taped some paper inside the boot and as a test sprayed water down the back glass at pressure (just garden hose not high pressure) but nothing, all dry. Also sprayed else where and nothing came in, only a few drips from the open boot lid. Last week I only opened the boot once or twice in the open when it was wet, but not actually raining, nothing should have got in.
I don't know what to think, maybe take it back to the smash repairers to get there opinion as they prepared it about 13 months ago after a minor crash. Maybe this week as it looks to be wet again I might leave the boot empty apart from the spare and basic tool kit to see if anything happens?
Oh and also, just out of curiosity I removed the heat shield then sits above the stock muffler, my CJ doesn't have a muffler there. Just wanted to see if there was anything that could be the cause. Its almost like water is getting into the left side and eventually running into the spare wheel well, but the question is where is it coming in?
Please any help of advice would be good as we're planning a road trip in a few months and the last thing we need is a boot full of wet luggage!

Re: What did you do today?
Check tail lights!? Easy way to check if boot seal is touching everywhere, is cut off strips of paper, place one end in the boot
and the other out, held in place with a bit of sticky tape close the boot and pull out each strip.
Each strip should have a bit of drag. If ther isn't there could be whre a problem is.
I have done that to the tops of my side windows of most of my cars. to cut down wind noise. If a problem exists.
I open the door, wind the window right down out of harms way, put my knee carefully against a inside solid part of the door
And in general grabbing the top of the window frame or maybe in the vicinity of the spot that wasn't right, give it a tug.
NOTE: Be careful and cautious as too much force will wreck your door also make sure the window is right down.
Be gentle, it doesn't take much!

Re: What did you do today?
I know its no the rear doors, the moisture is in the boot.
One theory I have is a seal was broke in the crash between some hidden panels at the back. I blasted water around that part of the car yesterday with no signs of leaks. I'll try that paper trick but don't think its a seal problem. Also take a close look at the lights. I wanted the rain to return today but it was clear and sunny, might rain later in the week.

Re: What did you do today?
Mention of doors was just a way to reduce wind noise. Not related to thread.

Re: What did you do today?
Ah, ok... Wind noise is an issue, but I have weather shields so thats probably not helping LOL
Taking the car to the repairer after lunch to get their take on the leak.

Got some wiper blades off Ebay, took forever for them to come from overseas (despite listing saying they were in Australia ) surprised Bosch doesn't list these as fitting a CJ
despite the higher bump at he hook, they look great, I prefer these to the standard arms =)
