Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Engine bay pic. Anyone notice anything different from previous version lancers? It seems like it gets seriously hot after driving but the internal temp gauge barely reaches half way. I’m guessing it’s just from being brand new engine. Anyone else have the same issue?

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Dash mat has stopped the reflection issues. Super cheap auto saves the day I’m hoping I won’t need to put the sticky grip tabs on the dash to keep the mat in place. Sits very well and doesn’t move at the moment.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
There are a few differences under the hood. Has hydraulic power steering which is interesting, I wonder if it's a Black edition thing or if Mitsubishi have ditched the electronic PS in the CF?.
Has the clamshell style exhaust manifold so a possible point for upgrade. Has the newer style airbox with the thinner filter, wonder if it has better flow? The reinforcing plates on top of the strut towers are interesting and new, wonder if it means Mitsubishi knows there is a problem with cracking/damage in older cars?
The instrument cluster is different, is it colour or monochrome amber? Dash mats are great and underrated as they work great to cut reflection of dash on windscreen, only the air vents will still reflect.
Thanks for posting up the pics good to see how the cars change over time. The engine bay will get fairly hot as the exhaust is at the back and has no cooling airflow, if no warning lights and radiator fluid level good nothing to worry about.
If it's possible I have a request, could you take a photo of the front brake caliper? As the CF Black comes with 18 inch wheels standard I'm curious if it also has the larger brake package. If so it really is a step up from the standard ES Sport at the same cost. Thanks.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Very good. Thanks. The colour cluster looks like it is the same as the ASX one i have in mine.
And the brackets ontop of the strut towers with a bit of luck the whiteline tower brace i have may help in that department too.
I wish mitsy put the colour instrument cluster in all lancers.so much easier to read them the orangie red coloured thing i had originally

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Thanks for photos, seems the Black edition has the smaller ES brakes. But the colour display is nice and the other bells and whistles make it a good buy considering it's the same price as the ES Sport.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Tinting and paint protection goes on in a few days. Then it’s saving until the audio install. New splits, Head Unit, 10” Sub, 4 channel amp plus a whole bunch of sound deadening. All 4 doors, the boot, the floor and the head lining. Should be a lot quieter inside. I would like 3 way splits but would need to see how much extra it will be for the custom work to have it installed in the A pillar or front dash corners.
Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
3 way splits would sound very nice i have no doubt. However im more then impressed with having the 1 inch tweeter at the top of the front doors and the 6.5 inch jaycar responce kevlar speakers in all 4 doors.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
I’ll be disconnecting the rear door speakers and just using the front splits for staging the sound. I’m not bothering with the 3 way. Too much hassle. I’ll stick with the 2 way. The below pics are what I want installed. Still undecided on a head unit and how the sub will be installed/located. I have a plan for the boot to install a pull out drawer under the parcel shelf and maybe the sub box built under it. I still want access to the spare though. I don’t need to be able to fold the seats down and put things through. I have a Subaru Forester wagon for putting long stuff in. I’ll be removing the flooring and having a new floor built that will have a lift section to access the spare. Probably chuck a LED strip in the boot area ceiling to light it up more. Still have to figure out how to remove the plastic board that is behind the rear centre arm rest so the sub can point through to bring more sound into the cabin area. Haven’t seen anyone do this yet? Would be good to see if someone has.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
I had a quick look through the rear centre arm rest. Pulled off the black plastic that’s held in by 4 push in clips. Very easy to come off. Just a small pull from each off the corners and it popped off. The seat lining is behind this covering the metal backing of the seat. A peak through shows there is no way to get a sub through here without cutting a 10” hole for the sub through the steel plate. It’s an option.... not sure if I want to do it though.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
You mentioned the Black has a black roof lining, what about the pillars?
I wanted to darken mine and so something with the pillar covers.
Photos please.
