Lancer portrait photoshoot w/ iPhone 8 plus

So thought I’d give a demo shots of what the iPhone 8 plus is capable of doing in portrait mode and best of all there photos of a lancer! Going from an iPhone 6 to 8 plus I was pretty impressed, yeah they aren’t the sharpest but for a phone it’s not bad!

Good work, I got an iPhone 8 (not the plus) a few weeks ago but not had a chance to take good shots of the CJ, it needs a wash.

No but its still pretty good and the closer to the subject you still get some blurred background. What I will do is use the iPhone 8 and my Canon 70D at the same 'shoot' to better compare how the smart phone stacks up to a proper DLSR with different lenses.

BTW have you thought of blacking out the chrome around the nose?

Sounds like a good idea! Get a nice comparison! I have thought of it but I might spray it white instead since I recently blacked out my mid grille like this, might look bit out of odd with the top half sprayed black

Man cellphones (sorry smart phones/phablets) have come a long way, I sometimes use my Samsung to take a photo to upload to social media, but most of the time I am using my DSLR, it is amazing how far they have come with Depth of field, but they need two lenses to do it. The photos look great, the one in open daylight especially, and it could be because of portrait mode, but the colours in the others look a little flat? the one looking at the headlight come up okay, but the whites look very blue, could be the shade or lighting though. Or I'm just being picky
