Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
Are they electric folding?
Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
Im not 100% sure even if they arent they still look good They`re a 5 wire if that helps
Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
Yeah they do look nice, I don't really have the money for them atm, and would have to get them repainted anyway. Kinda chasing the electric folding ones
Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
I gave up trying to find the folding ones there`s barely any for sale or they have no idea, and even when there is some for sale the wreckers want stoopid amounts of money for them . The joy with these ones for me was they were reasonable, same colour, and id had enough of watching and contacting wreckers over 12 months . Some guys in russia have retrofitted nonfolding with folding motors, you can import the motors from dubai/japan
Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
Yeah I've seen those retrofitted ones, it's interesting but I'm not sure if I can be bothered though that sort of stuff IS my field, so I doubt it's beyond my abilities, it's more just time and doing a good job.
If these were in my colour, I'd probably buy them from you, but I don't really want to have to get them resprayed unfortunately.

Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
I would find the painting thing easy, done that before when I fitted power mirrors and windows to my 93' Lancer coupe, worked great. Plan to paint my CJ mirrors as they have some marks from the previous owner, just need to get around to it.
As for indicators and auto fold, I'd do that if it was an easy wiring job but unfortunately I don't think it is from what I've read.

How easy would it be to match the colour Craig? The red I have is probably harder to match than the black you have

Re: 2012+ Led mirrors
I'm not expert but first remember you'll just be painting the colored top cover and not the whole mirror. I mean it you wanted to be different you could but that's your call.
As for prep, after you get the cover off I'd sand it so paint will stick. Then do some undercoat but you may just need to do several more layers than normal, maybe 4-5 in total. And remember the cover can be removed when the mirrors are fitted to the car. So I'd sort out the wiring first before painting. I know I ran around with one white mirror for a while, when I did my coupe and unlike the CJ on the CC I had to remove it again to paint it as the whole mirror is colored.
I'm considering going left field and painting my mirrors yellow! Maybe Plasti-Dip at first to see how it looks.
