boot parcel / cargo net

Postby billyboy » Mon Oct 27, 2014 9:02 am

I'm sick of shopping bags rolling around in the boot, even if I do drive like a grandpa from the shops ;)

Could anyone suggest a cargo net, similar like the OEM one but without the hefty $90 price tag?

use a bungee strap threaded through the bag handles and just attach to the boot struts or use the 'holes' in the upper reinforcement cross-member (the bit where your courtesy light is)

Thanks Folks!

Well I was initially looking at one more like a pouch like Speedie posted from SCA.

Settled & bought the below type that will stretch along the boot floor.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151379887002 ... 1439.l2649

As they are designed to hook into lashings & our cars don't have any! I think I'll make some up with paracord & can secure them around the back seat bolt mounts & around existing nylon nuts at rear of boot. :)

I'm looking for something also, got a cheap one from SCA but need some anchor points to hang it up.

Easy way to stop shopping moving in the boot, have more stuff in the boot then it won't move around ;)

What is people's aversion to the OEM stuff? Just to be different? It's designed to fit and work and no other stuffing around, I ordered the OEM net, used it a couple of times and it was good, comes with it's own hooks etc, but hardly ever put anything in my boot anyways.

For me it comes down to price.

If I could see how the OEM ones are anchored I'm sure I could rig up something, isn't that part of the fun of doing DIY mods?

I got a large boot organizer from Kmart, best ever $20 spend, i fitted in over $150 worth of groceries in it, and when is empty it folds so it doesn't take space

I'm seriously considering a major boot mod building a raised floor and storage with room for a sub & amp later.

Is it better to use MDF or ply?

Re my previous post Feb 1.

Where are the mounting points for the genuine nets, I've looked online and can't find a description or pictures to show how they are mounted to the upper boot.

The OEM net comes with 2 anchors that screw into the ends of the bolts that the grey trim holders are screwed into

Thanks, I'm sure I can rig up something to use my $5 KMart special.
