EVO ECU question

Postby Peter1979 » Thu May 21, 2015 11:09 am

Hey guys i have a EVO X MY13 currently tuned with ECUTEK on 98.

I have since found out it is possible to bench ecu so i can re-tune with Ecuflash so i can have dual maps at a reasonable price!

However i am now confused after reading in Merlins guideline that you can read ECUTEK with Ecuflash and re-flash!

If this is the case would save time tuning and i would be able to just improve on current tune and then start developing E85 tune from there?

Cheers,
Pete

i think beeble can overwrite the ecutek lock mate and give u dual maps.

u can contact him via here or this email addy if its still current.

[email protected]

i dont think he needs to bench it but talk to him

or u can contact merlin himself via here too, he`s in sydney and has the equipment if u dont.
i`ll pm u merlins phone number if u wish.

Pete,

Depends when it was done. The older Ecutek stuff can just be read, edited and reflashed with ecuflash no worries, but some of the later stuff needs benching. Still nothing serious really, but the tune will need to be tweaked.

Alan Wu from AK Racing can also help you, or I'd be happy to have a chat with you about getting rid of it.

Will have to run tephraxmod v2 for dual maps.

Cheers,

Sam

Thanks Steve, have had a brief chat online with Beeble about tuning thanks for the email address.

Sam sweet thanks thats the info i was after. My car is MY13 so not sure if it would be late software or not. I meet you briefly at the last mini cruise!
May have to talk to you regarding wideband setup as well.

imo its damn rude of ECUTEK to lock ppls ECU`s without prior warning :(
i started off with them cos i knew no better then but luckily it was the easier lock/ end rant, lol.

Yeah i reackon... my last car was a datsun 1200 with FJ20 524awhp and i ran Haltec PS1000 and tuned most myself. This computer in the evo is taking a lot of research and some learning on my behalf. Its good there are so many options and people willing to help tune at reasonable prices.. :)
