Bumper Body Paint Repair

Postby abc88 » Sun Aug 17, 2014 11:34 pm

Hi all,

I removed the frames the dealer had put on the rear of my car, unfortunately the plastic backing chipped the paint as I took it off :( it's not a light scratch but a bit of the ABS (black) was chipped off.

Was wondering if anyone had experience in repairs, should I use a putty/filler then paint back or just paint back over and over again until it's thick enough to level it out?

The car is white.

Thanks

Layering paint to fill a chip is not your best bet. I say if the chip is deep, fill it level first, then paint.

How are you painting? Rattle can or touch-up pen?

I used the touch up bottle from Mitsubishi. It wasn't too deep I guess. Ended up leveling ish after 4 coats :) looks OK from afar lol even with the LEDs shining brightly
