Why are you changing the timing chain? They don't need replacing.

the early models have been known to snap without warning which doesnt do your engine much good :(

I haven`t heard of them snapping they just wear which people mistakenly call
stretching you should get a warning light.
I think an oil with a high ZZDP helps, thats what I use, so we shall see.

Parts are $518, and i got quoted by mitsu here @ $800 mark just for the labor and they never done one so is a NO, NO for me, but that is another story, but again this is Mackay where all the prices are up to the roof. i would say to shop around and than compare. Maybe the best way is to supply the parts and pay just for labor.
What year model is yours? and do you have and warnings on the dash? or you want to change it just for a piece of mind?

Just want to put it out there again, a month after buying my 09 Ralliart (privately) my timing chain went, put the pistons through with ZERO warning and cost me $5000 and 3 weeks without my car to get it all fixed through Mitsubishi.

Don't leave this, if you are being told there is an issue then get it sorted ASAP.
