Buying a Ralliart
Moderator: Senior Moderators
Hey guys did not want to start a new thread so I thought i'd ask here.
Techsport vs RTR for an inspection. RTR is 3x the price of techsport so is it worth it. I know you get what you pay for but has anyone had good/bad experiences with either??
Ta!

Depends. Make sure the gearbox has no issues, and that the engine has had its timing chain replaced with the revised design (2010 and up come with the new one from factory I believe).

86K on a 2008 car isn't too bad, I've got 75k on my 2009 RA. It will have no warranty so check the story you get fits the number of k's. Check service history, if it hasn't had the SST fluid changed factor in doing that. Don't think officially it's done until 100k but it should be done much sooner than that.

Thread hijack!! LOL my 2010 RA just ticked over 86k km - to me, that many km on an 08 is on the lower side
MAP EF2 turbo , DW65 fuel pump, ID1000 injectors, EvoX FMIC, UR dump pipe, 100 cell cat, CP-E Exhaust, aFe air filter...and mud flaps!
86k does not seem excessive..thats approx 15-17k a year average so not too bad...but what the others have said...ensure the SST fluid has been changes if not do it immediately once you buy it..its not cheap and will cost you approx $800-1000.
Get it fully inspected at an evo specialist workshop if possible..drive the car and make sure gear changes are smooth..if you hear a few clunks from the SST here and there, thats pretty normal.
All the best with your purchase.

^ thats a good suggestion..
From the pics it does not look like a mitsubishi dealership so make sure they use the right fluid..say you want genuine mitsubishi SST fluid and get them to give you a receipt with the work done and fluid used just in case they are planning on putting in cheap fluid.

If its through a dealer, then perhaps ask for some warranty... most give it anyway, just for peace of mind, in case something is wrong. But yeah...
good luck dude. I just traded my 2008 MY09 RA with 82,000km in for another car.
