Re-fitted the dump pipe back on after having the crack repaired . Need to buy some heat wrap and some new gaskets next weekend. Suprise how easy it was to remove.

turbogirl wrote: I meant to ask you on the cruise Brett, what the service schedule on the MY14? Ive heard its been changed to every 10,000km whereas mine in 7,500. Dont fret I just had my 52,500km service done ;-(

arhh! this explains something!! my dash says 7500 but my log book is every 5k, my first service after the 1500, dash said 7500 (hadn't looked in the log book), so I call them to book at 6600 and blah blah, booked in for 2 weeks advanced(saturday booking), I said it's for 7500km service and they said, it's actually for your 5,000km, couple more words said and the guy basically says well you can't drive your car for 2 weeks now cause your priced capped servicing and warranty will be avoided, kept my cool as I wanted to get home, called up the next morning and asked for the service manager, told what was happened and at first they weren't gonna do anything as I should looked at the lube sticker(no lube sticker) and they also said the dash is only a guide to service( i laughed at this reply), ended up having it serviced the next day(had to get the day off work) wasn't overly happy...

service is every 5000km, I asked the guy at Mitsubishi, why is it every 5k not 7.5k like the previous models and the reason being he thinks the My14 ralliart has more power??? still a big mystery...

Or they're just trying to screw more money out of you...

They keep revising the service intervals and requirements - the cynic in me reason that if the first owner keep it for say 30,000kms, with 7500km intervals that's 4 services performed. With 5,000km services, that's 2 additional services to be performed within the set kilometres travelled!

2008 model year: Ralliarts and Evos have oil change intervals at 7500kms, however the manuals states the oil filter to be changed every second oil change (ie. 15,000km intervals). They dropped it the following year, requiring oil filter change with every oil change. Somewhere between 2012-13 model years they dropped the full/semi synthetic oil requirement, and allowed mineral engine oil in forced induction engines to be used without voiding warranty, as long as it is within a given viscosity range and meets certain standards.

So in essence, they're cutting corners with their costs as well as screwing you harder with the 'capped price' servicing.

Probably as the price of the new cars is gradually dropping, they're clawing back money via their servicing...

Got my dead tail light bulb replaced with a spare that's lying around.. that's probably going to die soon too, but it works. ._.

Was a bit of a pain to take the inner tail light off though.

Today I got bored so started to clay bar my roof. Only got half way and the bottle of detailing spray ran out :( was going to finish it when I got round to other half's house but hit the gym instead. Will raid his car detailing cupboard tomorz and finish it off.
