car polish/wax
I'm just curious as to what products people recommend for a good wax/polish for a nice shine and protect.
I'm currently thinking of purchasing the Nu Finish once a year but am open to suggestions, also i don't have a buffer machine if that changes anything also.

Keeping it simple...
Buying from Repco etc:
Polish: Meguiars Ultimate Compound
Wax: Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax
Buying online (ZAS, Waxit etc):
Polish: (Depending on cut required) Scholl S17.
Sealant/Wax: Wolfgang DGPS / DP Max Wax (Good quality, low cost product)
I'd recommend you getting some hand polishing pads if you're going to be doing it by hand and also some quality microfiber cloths for wiping product off.
Always remember to clay bar the paint before polishing and always practice safe washing techniques.
Feel free to contact me if you have more specific questions I can help with.
Cheers.

I had my paint protection reapplied after getting my car repaired, Only reason I knew was because the bumper and passenger door were incredibly smooth and the guys told me they reapplied it :O!

Just a question though: How would a smash repair shop know what paint protection you had applied?
Even if they did know, they cannot supply a warranty with it.
If you had paint protection on there from the dealer, it won't be there when you get the car back and your warranty for it will be gone unless you get it re-applied at the dealer.
Mitch, shoot me an email and I can give you a quote on Opti-Coat if you want.
