My latest cheapest Mod !
(using leftover chrome strip, so either zero cost, or a coupla' dollars worth if you have to buy it...):

As you may know, I installed my fog lights last weekend, happy with the look, but still something missing...

Image

So I went looking on eBay for the chrome surround rings, but didn't really like the look of them (too showy), so I thought I'd try to do my own...

Here's the surrounds taken from the vehicle, au naturel:

Image

Using my leftover chrome strip (it's best to bend it 'flat' before putting it on, like so):

Image

it's then simply a matter of following the 'flat spot' around the base of the projected bit, and you end up looking like this:

Image

But, as the strip is sitting partially sideways-on, I then went around the exposed white sticky with a black marker:

Image

Refitted to the car, it looks a bit more 'finished':

Whaddaya think?

Looks different but good, wondering how hard it would be to hook up a waterproof led strip around that chrome strip and wire it so it comes on with your fogs

Very.

Plus, if you did, the fog lights would be brighter than the LEDs and you'd lose the effect...

Depends on the colour of them, say bright blue, would complement the fogs, they are more to compliment then replace the fogs

Installed these today:

I'll post photos later - still have the head unit fascia loose as I'm picking one up to test tomorrow...

:-)

Fair amount of blood loss installing the thermosensor - lots of tight spaces and sharp edges back there...

Because I am moving house I had to put a rush on mods I had already started. So blacked out the grill and centre piece on the car, and installed the headlights I modded. Hard to get a good picture with all this rain but still nice.
