You will find that CJs were introduced in late 2007....so I assume that was when they ran out the CH and introduced the CJ

thanks everybody, that is very welcoming.
I've got lots of questions, but i'm going to do some searching first.
The two most pressing things for me are
drivers side parcel shelf support has snapped and needs to be repaired, I can 3d prin a new one, but removing the bracket it's moulded into is not obvious.
(i used to have a Mitsubishi Mirage, and basically if you pulled hard...everything was easy to remove :0)
then will be a rear camera connected to the GPS.
after that, some good old fashion hacking: intercepting the steering controls and diverting them to control the android phone music...

I think my problem is I don't proof read my posts before commiting. :0)
I intend to fiddle with the mmcs, hope to put a hard drive in, or at best, intercept the steering controls to operate the phone via a bluetooth link.
(I used to have a tiburon and built a custom carputer for it using centrafuse).

Welcome, if you manage to put a hard drive in without bricking your mmcs unit make a DIY, many ppls issue with the aus version of mmcs is that we didn't get the hard drive the US an EU models did
