And you thought I'd NEVER ask for help buying stuff... .

I'm looking to buy this:



It's made in Japan but the brand is all American.

The MSRP in the USA = US$4,500
Though you can walk into a US store and pick it up for about US$3,150.

The Gretsch Australia Website lists it RRP = A$5,199.

I've had price quotes from A$3,999 -> A$4,400 around Melbourne's Gretsch dealers.
For something this expensive, I don't think I want to import it as I want the warranty local.

Obviously in an ideal world I'd like to pay now more than A$3,360 which is the US price in A$.

Anyone got connections??
I'd be eternally grateful.
