Sounds like you might have put it on crooked. There are sensors that tell the car if it is tracking straight or turning. So you have a sensor in the steering, a sensor in the rack and sensors on the wheel. When going straight the sensor in the steering says its straight, the sensor in the rack say its straight and the sensors in the wheels say they are rotating the same speed. If any of these sensors report other wise (say the steering wheel sensor did not line up but the rack and wheels did) the car would think its trying to turn but still going straight and turns the ASC off

Yeah thats what im thinking. Perhaps your steering wheel was crooked or straight and you put the new one on a angle.
I had this issue too! but i didnt touch my steering wheel. I just had a bad bad Wheel Allighnment. And it turned off everythinfg. ASC, traction control and ABS.
Did a wheel allighnment and maybe 10 minutes into the drive it went away and everything was working fine. Seems to me like the sensors recalibrated itself.
Dont worry its not the end of the world.
You can go to your local Mitsubishi dealer and get them to look at it. My guess is they need to Recalibrate the steering angle sensor. And they might charge you. From memory they wanted to charge me 60$
Hope this helps!
