Yes, well . . .
Joined up to check out the current Lancer. Thinking of buying one - possibly second hand but no more than a couple of years old. Wife wants a new car, anything will do, as long as it is white, manual and doesn't have too many distracting features (auto wipers would freak her out), so why not a Lancer?
Already have several Mitsus in the family, currently a 2004 Lancer, 2001 magna sedan and 2004 Magna wagon.
I have worked on my own cars for years, not inclined to pay some high school dropout a high hourly rate for stuff I can do myself.
I've had a good look at the workshop manual, the 2.0L Mitsu engine sure has changed since 2004! Mivec, chain driven twin cam, intake at the front, just to mention a couple of things.
I'm also on another forum under the same name.

Adelaide northern suburb, Elizabeth way. (Bogan territory, but not in MY street. )
We have a 2004 Lancer in the family, bought new - no problems with it whatever over 10 odd years, but wife wants to upgrade. Something about wanting more air bags in her car, donno really.
I'm checking out this forum as a CJ n00b, to find out how the current model is put together, differences to the 2004 CH (= lots), things to look out for when shopping for one, and above all, how practical home servicing is on the CJ. I've managed to keep the CH out of the dealer's clutches and I'm hoping the CJ is a similar proposition. Seems OK so far.
