If you're that concerned, Nitto Performance have billet steel conrods starting at $500 for the 4b11.

They even offer a full 2.2L stroker kit, for like 4 grand..

I just did a mock checkout to see what the final price would be.. even with the listed price being $500.01 for the H beam, the final price, including shipping to NSW was only $450

I cant comment for nitto, i know there pistons are made by JE Pistons

H Beam Rods good for high rpms 600WHP (less weight, less bearing wear)
I Beam Rods good for BILLET Cranks 1000whp, (more weight, faster bearing wear)


No use going I beam rods unless you are making big big power, otherwise u will munch out your bearings or unless its a track car..but most people on forums are Daily Drivers,

yeah I have seen a few bent rods when motors have been taken apart
and I'd tend to agree with his analysis - seen a few 2008 motors let go at very modest power levels, and you have to wonder about a weak component failing

Bent conrods timing chains what next surely these things can not be happening to to many evo x s I would think most people on these forums are using the evo s as their daily drive not pounding them on a track somewhere if these issuses keep coming up these cars will worthless at resale time so it is around 1k to fix timing chain so how to replace conrods and when would a good time to do it be ??????? To get it done

very rare I reckon
the only aussie cars I know of with dying motors, one was running an FP red with meth and low 300s , one was running an EF3 with E85 and about 315 or so.

roughly kinda sorta, yeah
it's torque not power that breaks stuff
but roughly speaking the torque you need to get 300 is kinda the limit, so it's a good guide. Bigger turbos I usually limit the torque a bit to keep it safe(r)
