I didnt saw a pic comparing different rod designs used in the 4B11T.[/quote:ac062cc1c3] It sounds like the materials used, they were using something a little weak, or maybe too thin.[/quote:0658cfc903] We need solid confirmation, not just speculations.
Items changed internally stronger design....confirmed
Timing chain (upgraded metal links)
Timing chain top guide (removed)
Timing chain oil squirter (removed)
Valve cover (switched back to plastic)
Camshaft cap (metal)
Spark plugs (unknown reason)
Conrods (stronger metal)
Go look up my faults topics
mitsubishi would have to be aware of this , i mean they would have started to see the 4b11T coming through now ???? with how may they sold ... the question i have to ask , is how hard are these cars being driven ???? what modification have been done to them ???? and if it is just a fault on mitsubishi behalf then why have they not recalled them yet and it would be negligent of them not too, there fore putting them in legal striff if something were to go horribly wrong ????
im not doubting the fact that its a fault of the engine , but i want to know what it the root cause to make the engine do this , what stress is it under and what condition make it do this .... because i pretty sure normal road drive to road and legal conditions would not do this .... not doubting your report at all ... but i this all the facts need to be laid on the table .. if we are going to lay blame on and apparent badly built car

Look up, plenty of stock evo with these problems....im getting the old and new jew timing chain tested by a mate of mine who is an engeneer for a mining company to test out the stregnth and write upba report of the old vs new chains then take it to mitshi and get them tobda a recall....mitshi are aware of this problem some accept warranty some claim wear and tear....there is a loop hooe tho ik working on
Car manufacturers are like that sometimes. Take vw for eg the problems they have had with the gearboxes. I was talking to a guy today that had a golf with a dsg and was having intermittent faults with his box. He even recorded the problems but vw would not do anything until the box totally stopped working.
