You wont get better fuel economy with E85 fuel (thats 85% ethanol content, 15% petrol). But it is a much better fuel for high compression engines than pump 98 RON petrol.

there are plenty of hi-compression daily driven cars out, eg check the specs on a BMW.

The 4B11 Lancer stock compression is quite a bit higher than what Mitsu cars were even 10 years ago. Good engine management allows these engines to run on crappy 91 pump, but they really want something better.

I am sure there would have been a lot less blown Mitsu Satun engines (LA Lancer) 30 years ago if we had or knew about E85.

And so we progress.

Luke... Running E10 on an untuned car for it actually runs worse / uses more fuel. I noticed that when I used it in my Magna back in the days.. fuel economy was shit with it. Never used it again. I would tune to 98 fuel.. You should see around 5 - 10kw gains from that

Are there any dyno sheets from before and after the tunes. Just be interesting to see what gains are achievable from these motors.

There are some virtual dyno plots in

http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=6523

and this one

You'll probably need to be premium member to view the ECU Tuning topics.

basically the 2l will go from around 75-80kw to 100kw at the wheels.

2.4l will go from 100 to 118kw atw.

CVT's will not make as much power, but will still gain.

The biggest gain will be low rpm torque increase where you can use the power.

Sound good on those results. Are we still looking at the end of May or early June. Where do they organise these tunes?
