Changing the gear knob

Its to prevent accidents if someone other than yourself has to move the vechile. Not all cars have the same gear change pattern. You can always check online with your states Road transport Authority with theur rules and guidelines for modifing your vechile

yeah that would be pretty bad!
Most people would know where the gears are in their car anyway but i can see why the rule is in place, i doubt cops would ever burn you for it unless they really wanted to yellow sticker you for their stats or something..

Definitely not, it is known that a heavier gear knob aids in smooth swift gear changes.

That's why companies like Trust/Greddy, Nismo, etc made heavier knobs for their drag/race cars. When they found that it made quite a difference they figured they could sell them.

Hmm I will put this to the test. This weekend im racing anyway and I will use both knobs and see how they affect my times. Though the heavier one does change quicker due to more mass, that mass has to be stopped, and probably the heavier the gearknob and thus the inertia with which it slams into gear, the more wear the gearbox takes. But then again our gearboxes are the same as the evo ones, so who knows. They are pretty strong.
